The Canadian Music Hall of Fame recognizes Canadian artists that have attained commercial success while having an artistic impact on the Canadian music scene here at home and/or around the world.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, artists/groups must have had a career that spans twenty plus years from their first recording.

Final decisions on eligibility are at the discretion of CARAS.

Adjudication

A long list of potential inductees made up of suggestions from the music industry and public will be narrowed down to a short list by the Canadian Music Hall of Fame Committee in each induction year. The inductees will then be chosen by the CARAS Board of Directors.

The following will be considered when determining both the short list and inductees:

• Musical excellence
• Commercial success both domestically and/or abroad
• Critical acclaim
• Demonstrating a significant contribution to Canadian music, their genre of music, and/or decade in music

Please Note: In the case of groups with rotating members, CARAS will have the right to determine who is part of the induction.
